Hey y'all!
My name is Rebekah Tate, and I am a former patient of Cook Children's Hospital for Children and a childhood cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with a muscle cancer at the age of 4 months old and underwent an above the knee amputation and chemotherapy treatments as part of my cancer treatments. I received my first prosthesis at the age of 10 months, and I have been blessed to tackle life in new ways each day since then. This year, I am celebrating 26 years of being cancer free.
This blessing is due largely to the work, dedication, and care of the doctors, nurses, and staff members at Cook Children's Hematology and Oncology who invest incredible time and work into researching and finding new ways to battle cancer and help kiddos live full lives.
I am participating in the walk this year to help Cook Children's raise money to continue providing out-of this world care! The Blast started with a promise between two friends to find a cure for neuroblastoma, a rare type of cancer. Now it is my turn to be a friend and build upon that promise to find a cure for all pediatric cancer and blood disorders. Each dollar raised supports lifesaving research, treatments, and programs for Cook Children's Hematology and Oncology patients who are battling cancer. Donate now to #blastawaycancer!!
