We are so glad you can join us in celebrating Elliot’s 8th birthday!  Rather than gifts, we are asking for donations to Cook Children’s Medical Center.  Cook Children’s holds a special place in our hearts as they have meticulously cared for both of our children at various times. 

Elliot’s eager attitude began when he decided to enter this world 7 weeks earlier than we planned.  Soon after being transported to Cook Children’s, we found out he needed to undergo a jejunal atresia repair and that would be the start to our six week stay in the Cook Children’s NICU.  Aside from the outstanding medical care Elliot received, our entire family benefitted from the services provided by the various family support groups.  Elliot still has his lovey provided by the Stitch-A-Wish volunteers along with the Prayer Bear he received from the Spiritual Care team.  The Child Life Specialists made sure Savannah was occupied during the long hours she would spend with us at the hospital and the Social Services team supported and coached Dobe and I through a traumatic time in our family.

We are forever grateful for the wonderful care and support we received while at Cook Children’s and this is just a small way we can say ‘thanks’.
