Why We Walk
In the fight against childhood cancer, every step counts. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death from disease in children under the age of 15. Cook Children’s and our worldwide partners are making huge strides to find more cures, but we need your help. More funding is crucial to see the end of childhood cancer especially to support research, new technology and access to care for every family who needs us.

About The Blast
The Blast began to honor the promise Alexa Sankary made to her friend, Michael Mancuso, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of four. Before he passed away just three years later, she promised she would help find a cure for children suffering from cancer.
Your Impact
We walk to #blastawaycancer. Every dollar raised supports our quest for cures, including support for survivors, specialized and innovative approaches to treatment, emergency assistance funds, training and education for our providers and staff and moments of magic that provide childhood joy along the way.
