- You! Over 2,500 community members will join us to show patients fighting cancer at Cook Children’s that they’ll never walk alone.

- The Blast includes family-friendly activities like an obstacle course, music, food truck and activities for kids, as well as our walking route along the Trinity River.

What to expect
Tribute Walk
We honor all children who have battled cancer with the Tribute Walk – a display of signs along the trail. All current and former patients are welcome to request a sign by filling out the form linked here. The deadline to submit for a sign is Friday, March 6. For assistance, please reach out to theblast@cookchildrens.org.
Activities
Nothing beats The Blast! With activities like food trucks, an obstacle course, a bubble show, balloon animals, mascots, our mobile Build-A-Bear Workshop and more, there is something for everyone to enjoy the day. Teams are welcome to bring their own pop-up tent to have a space to gather. Dogs on leashes are allowed per Trinity Trails policies.
Program and awards
The Blast launches with a moment of reflection and remembrance from our Spiritual Care team and a message of thanks and encouragement from a patient family and Dr. Donald Beam, Medical Director of the Hematology and Oncology department at Cook Children’s. After the walk, we’ll give out team awards and draw a winner of our Cosmic Champion raffle. We will recognize teams in the following categories: Best Dressed Team, Most Social Team, Highest Fundraising Team, Highest Fundraising New Team, Most Spirited Team and Most Spirited Corporate Team, Largest Team and Largest Corporate Team.
Parking
Parking is free at Panther Island Pavilion. If you have received VIP Parking, let our attendants know to be directed to the VIP parking area.
How it works
Step 1: Register
- Start a team: Team captains lead their groups to recruit members and fundraise leading up to The Blast. Start a new team to become its captain.
- Join a team: Search for an existing team to join.
- Register as an individual
Step 2: Raise funds
Together we can #blastawaycancer! Your generosity brings out-of-this-world treatment and care to our patients at Cook Children’s.
